Capitals Baseball Game

August 29, 2009
2:00 pmto9:00 pm

Just before school starts, Fijis are heading to a Capitals Baseball Game. It’s free for new guys, plus a great way to build friendships before you’ve even gone to Orientation. We’ll likely meet at the Fiji House, but you can always meet us somewhere on Campus. Send an email to Corey MacGarva, or you can call the Fiji House at 780-432-1162. We’ll be meeting at about 6:00 on Saturday.

LaserQuest

September 5, 2009
1:00 pm

Only in College is LaserQuest cool again. The Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta has rented out the entire building for a few games of LaserQuest on Saturday September 5th. It’s an awesome way to get out and celebrate finishing your first week of University. We’ll be meeting at the Fiji House a little before 1:00 pm, but feel free to RSVP to Corey MacGarva, and he’ll be happy to meet you somewhere on campus.

FIJI BBQ

September 4, 2009
6:00 pm

Did you survive your first week of classes? Sweet. We did too, just barely, though. If you’re as tired as we are, come out to a FIJI BBQ on the first Friday after classes. Don’t expect any big extravagant event, or anything. Just some food, foosball, ultimate frisbee, and maybe a movie or two.

If you’re interested, feel free to RSVP to Corey MacGarva, our recruitment chairman.

So you’ve dropped by the house a couple of times, or you know some Fijis, or you’ve heard about fraternities, but not really sure what they’re about? What really happens after traditional “rush” or “recruitment” events?

Every Monday during the academic year, FIJIs gather for MND, or Monday Night Dinner. It’s an awesome time to relax after classes, see what other people have been up to, build friendships, and most importantly, get a free meal.

Yeah, that’s right. Free dinner. We’re talking meaty, hearty dinners with a dessert. Not just a bowl of soup and a cracker.

If you’re interested, they’re held every Monday at 5:00 pm. You can expect nearly all of the 40 brothers to be there, too. The address is 11009-89 Avenue. Do you know where HUB mall is? At the south end, go east for two blocks. There’s a little roadway on the north side of the Law and Fine Arts Buildings. At the end of that, cross the street, and we’re the last big house on that block.

See you then.

Orientation BBQ

August 31, 2009 12:00 pmtoSeptember 1, 2009 11:00 pm
September 1, 2009
12:00 pm

Your first two days at University will inevitably be long ones. If you’re attending Orientation this year, and find you need a break afterwards, pop by the FIJI house for a BBQ. Most of the active members will be there lounging about, catching up on what’s happened through the summer, and honing their Foosball skills. Come by to 11009-89 avenue if you’re thinking about joining a fraternity, but just not sure what they’re all about.
